Sarah James is a prize-winning poet, fiction writer and journalist. Her latest poetry collections are Lampshades & Glass Rivers (Loughborough University, 2016), winner of the Overton Poetry Prize 2015, and plenty-fish (Nine Arches Press, 2015). Sarah’s poetry narrative, The Magnetic Diaries (KFS, 2015), was highly commended in the Forward Prizes. Her poetry-play version was staged at The Courtyard, Hereford, and is set to tour in 2016, including a two-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe. Hearth, written with Angela Topping, was a Poetry Book Society autumn pamphlet 2015. Into the Yell, Sarah’s debut collection from Circaidy Gregory Press in 2010, won third prize in the multi-genre International Rubery Book Awards 2011. One of her poems was animated for the 2014 Blackpool Illuminations.
Shortlisted in the Gatehouse Press New Fictions Prize 2015/16, Sarah’s other fiction publications include a winning story in the ‘Oxford Today’ thriller flash competition 2014, longer short fiction published by Legend Press and flashes in The Ofi Press Literary Magazine, Rockland Jellyfish Review (forthcoming) and Elbow Room (forthcoming).
